12 significant pictures in any one year is a good crop
— Ansel Adams

As I look back over the year, it's hard to know whether it's been a good year or not. It's been a challenge, with some images coming easily, others requiring lots of effort and plenty of images that will never see the light of day.

As always, I've tried new things along the way and have bolstered my portfolio with a few more images that I'm really proud of. I've also enjoyed some success in competitions this year, winning a round in Amateur Photographer of the Year and finishing 8th overall, as well as having an image commended in the British Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards.

I've put a small roundup of images from the year into the following video.
